Key role in opening up new markets
The strategic goal of the ERGO Group is to expand its insurance sales via banks. ERGO Austria has taken on a central key role in expanding the company's insurance activities in Central and Eastern Europe. In this region, ERGO Austria is making good use of its many years of bancassurance experience gained in Austria. The focus is on developing existing bank partnerships and evaluating and tapping new markets. Central and Eastern Europe is a major growth market with great potential and significantly higher growth rates compared to Western Europe.
Long-term partnerships and a focus on local needs
The company's aim is to establish long-term partnerships with banks and to offer their customers needs-based insurance solutions. When it comes to products and services, special attention is being given to specific local customer needs. The desire for financial security and to make provisions for the future may well be the same everywhere, but the specific requirements and national mentalities vary from country to country.
Back in 2000, the first Victoria-Volksbanken subsidiaries were started in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. These were followed by market entries in Hungary, Croatia and Slovenia. The foundation of ERGO Austria International AG saw the start of the establishment of subsidiaries in Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary under the ERGO brand. This was followed in mid-2009 by market entry into Romania.
Represented in six countries
